This page will link to different projects, resources, and videos on the grand ole topics of 3D printing, modeling, projects, studio builds, and randomness #wootwoot.
Hello, world! This page is being developed, but feel free to poke around!
3D Models are Fun
Project [03.22] - Engine 7 Tap Handle:
Here is my first attempt at designing a beer tap handle from scratch. 3D modeled the handle, 3D printed, then painted.
This was a really fun project and I ended up making 4 final versions that all had their own distressed and unique look. I learned a lot from this project and I would love to tackle something like this again.
Looking back on this now, there are a lot of things that I would do differently with every aspect. My most glairing error has to do with my slicer settings for the 3D model, that support structure was going nowhere and was a royal pain to remove. Since then I have learned a lot more about support materials and have generally been leaning towards tree supports when needed. This would have shortened print time and material by 20-30% on this project.

3D Print Timelapses:
This is a collection of various 3d prints that I've captured.
Over time I have learned a few different ways to record and capture 3d prints. I think they look much cleaner but in turn they are much shorter videos. To achieve this effect the camera is synced to the 3D printer through OctoPi and a frame is captured every layer (and some additional GCODE to rehome the extruder after each layer). I eventually want to have a 2nd camera for an additional angle and timelapse.
These print times range from 1-14 hours and were all printed with PLA at 200C. For any prints over 100mm tall I used glue stick to adhear to the bed.
